Ruhla Midimatic and Sumatic electric-powered alarm with mechanical watch movement Caliber 24-39.
Ruhla Midimatic and Sumatic alarm clocks were first produced in the 1960s but were made throughout the 1970s and 1980s and come in a variety of colours. Midimatics are of an all plastic construction and the alarm function is powered by a single AA battery. The Sumatic is plastic case with a metal back. The Sumatic alarm function is powered by a cell battery (HD625 or equivalent). In both Midimatic and Sumatic an adapted 24 caliber watch movement is used and linked to the alarm function to complete the electronic circuit. The alarm sound is produced by a metal based vibrating buzzer which during the years of production varies in design slightly.
