Two random camel thefts. One link between them. Can this young sleuth unravel the mystery before catastrophe strikes?
Bill Kurtz is perpetually curious. Precocious and nearly always barefoot, the fourteen-year-old can?t resist investigating when camels are snatched from a local farm. He?s determined to help even though the clues point toward a disreputable fellow Amish community member.
Refusing to ignore a growing suspicion that the theft is more than it seems, Bill pushes on, all the way to Cleveland. More camels disappear at the zoo, cryptic notes surface, and a Palestinian march crops up; leaving Bill with the realization that the truth may be bigger and more dangerous than he?s ready for.
Racing against time, Bill struggles away from the march only to discover the nefarious plot of a shadowy gang. This is a race he can?t lose.
Some plain mysteries get complicated fast.
