Nació en Palma y se licenció en Bellas Artes por la Universidad de Barcelona. A principios de los años 80, Rafa Forteza comenzó su etapa de creación artística. Desde entonces ha realizado numerosas exposiciones nacionales e internacionales, también ha trabajado en talleres artísticos de varias ciudades. Su arte es contemporáneo y en el siglo XXI ha hecho referencias al "tema tecnológico" con una ironía futurista.
