Una de las dos extremidades presenta detalles pintados en rojo y amarillo. La hoja es una piedra pulida. Estas hachas ceremoniales eran utilizadas en danzas tribales y ofrendas, y son un testimonio de la rica tradición artesanal y simbólica de las culturas melanesias.
