Ptah-Sokar-Osiris, figura funeraria del Periodo Tardío y Época Ptolemaica, entre 700 y 30 a.C. aproximadamente.

Es de madera policromada, lleva peluca, barba postiza de Osiris y collar Usekh.

Llleva los ojos abiertos a propósito.Para los egipcios la muerte no era dormir con los ojos cerrados, era despertar en otro mundo. Representa al difunto resucitado. Cuando el difunto era momificado se convertía en Osiris. Osiris murió, pero resucitó y reina en el Más Allá. La figura con los ojos bien abiertos, delineados en negro, es él ya transfigurado, vivo y vigilante.

The piece features an anthropomorphic, mummiform shape with traces of reddish and brown pigment or polychromy on the face and body.

Ptah-Sokar-Osiris, a funerary figure from the Late Period and Ptolemaic Era (approximately 700–30 BC).

Made of polychromed wood, it wears a wig, the false beard of Osiris, and a *Usekh* collar.

The eyes are intentionally depicted as open. For the Egyptians, death was not sleeping with closed eyes; it was awakening in another world. It represents the resurrected deceased. Upon mummification, the deceased became Osiris. Osiris died but rose again and reigns in the Afterlife. The figure—with wide-open eyes outlined in black—represents him transfigured, alive, and watchful.
